Flying A Cattle Company's approach to custom feeding is based on two primary principles -- integrity and dedication.

The integrity of our operation is obvious. You can trust the service we provide. Our dedication comes from years of experience. Now a century farm, Flying A is very knowledgeable in all aspects of custom feeding. Flying A uses this experience to engage in all classes of custom feeding, including a highly successful calf feeding program.  We also have expertise in buying feeder cattle and selling slaughter cattle.

Flying A Cattle Company
Our custom feedlot is located near Red Oak, Iowa on a 1500 acre farm. The feedlot capacity is 5000 head of cattle.

Management and Staff
Flying A Cattle Company is known for its dedicated team of workers. In addition to the owner and manager, who are personally involved in daily operations, our well trained staff of employees offer courteous service and personalized attention.

Nutrition and Health Care
We consult with highly qualified professionals to insure the best care and feeding for your cattle. Jack Martin, Ph.D., Sterling Nutritional Service, provides nutritional consulting services and veterinary consulting is also available.

Feeding
Flying A Cattle Company offers flexible feeding programs. Customers have the option of bringing their own feed, or feed can be booked in advance with the feedlot. There are no markups on any feed ingredients. For customers who want to purchase feed, we offer high quality rations at low cost.

Feed Storage
Our up-to-date equipment features plenty of bins to accommodate choices of supplement and feed. These include: grain, liquid supplement, dry supplement, silage, and dry ground hay. The operation also has covered hay storage and a licensed scale.

Packing House Availability
Located in Southwest Iowa, we have access to six major packing plants: I.B.P., Beef America, ConAgra, Excel, Nebraska Beef, and Greater Omaha.

Facilities
Our modern feedlot facilities provide a safe, efficient environment. The lots are well drained and maintained and have numerous windbreaks together with large mounds for drainage. Each lot is equipped with automatic, heated waterers. Veterinary medicines and D.V.M. work are charged to the customer. Flying A doesn't charge chute fees or labor for processing and/or doctoring cattle.
